The original cards were only 2kb. Data cards, used only for storing configurations and bitmaps, may be any size so long as there is 20 percent headroom above the total configuration and bitmap size for directory and other information. Then again, some cards don’t seem to need drivers, they just autoconfigure as RAM right away. Most, if not all, of the devices that use SRAM cards without attribute can also centenniaal cards with attribute. I assume that it means I should prepare it as a disk but when I do the screen just goes black after a while.

A and PCMCIA SRAM cards – English Amiga Board
By one session I mean that the card is plugged, powered, written, unpowered, unplugged. Assuming laptop has no Pcmcia slot of course. There is a write protect switch to prevent that from happening though.
You need something that is not cardbus, or at least is 16bit compatible, which pretty much rules out everything usb based other than the ones jbc linked to.
If you scratch the USB requirement you will have an easier time finding something that works. Just don’t ever try the built in memory test on the MVS if you use a third party card.

Is this card just broken or is it the A? The downside is you never know when it’s going to die and you lose everything on the card. Yes they are compatible, but dont pay those prices. After that the session is closed and later changes may corrupt the card’s filesystem.
