I don’t know if this relates, but I tried to boot from a 6. I changed the grub parameter from being erroneous set to hd0,3 to hd0,0 in the grub boot parameters. I have the newest release, just downloaded it today. Comment on this change optional. So installing ubuntu is not possible if you have only a PATA hard drive.
